The EDGE is a Catholic middle school youth ministry experience created for early adolescents in grades six, seven, and eight. The EDGE is designed to meet the educational, spiritual, emotional, and social needs of young people. Kids are always welcomed and encouraged to bring their friends with them to The EDGE.
Middle school kids are "on the edge" because so much is going on in their lives physically, mentally, spiritually, and socially. Adolescence can be a very stressful time for them and their parents. As a Catholic Community, St Maximilian strives to give our middle school youth The EDGE they need in life: Jesus, the Word, the Eucharist, and the Church! Read about our goals.
There are two main components of The EDGE:
1. The Sunday night LIFE TEEN Mass. This mass, geared to our youth with contemporary liturgical music and homilies geared toward young people brings the gospel message of Jesus home to youth from middle school through the young adult years.
2. EDGE Nights. Social and recreational activities are designed to create a greater sense of community among middle school youth, and they are given opportunities to have fun together in a church setting.
The Life Teen Mass is held every Sunday at 6:00 pm in the church. All family members are welcome at the Mass.
